The law school’s role in a diversity mentorship program launched by the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association garnered strong praise in an article that appeared in the Legal Intelligencer on Dec. 8.
Emmanuel O. Iheukwumere, a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Board of Governors and owner of a Philadelphia firm, singled out the law school for its involvement in an association mentorship program that pairs law students of color with practitioners.
The mentor-mentee relationships promote a more diverse plaintiffs’ bar, Iheukwumere said in the article, which outlines slow progress in diversifying the legal profession.
“I wish the other area law schools -- Temple, Penn and Villanova -- would copy what Drexel's doing,” Iheukwumere was quoted as saying.
